We are looking for projects that would involve the local community or local amateur art groups in cultural and creative activities, and encourage active community involvement.

We are interesting in performing arts (dance, music, theatre), film festivals, traditional culture activities, cultural heritage, innovations and technologies (multimedia art), education programs, interdisciplinary culture activities, contemporary art, modern circus projects.

Samylai Cultural Center is a multifunctional cultural institution that nurtures various cultural fields and genres. It focuses on:

Cultural education of local residents
Promotion of amateur art
Ensuring creative freedom
Providing opportunities for community involvement in preserving and creating cultural values
Popularizing old cultural traditions
Safeguarding cultural heritage
Supporting professional art

The center implements both local and international projects and was actively involved in Kaunas – European Capital of Culture 2022, continuing its activities to this day. Among its ongoing projects in the Kaunas district are:

Festival “Feet at the Bottom of the Lagoon” – Atlantis of Lithuania: ethnic and contemporary interpretations, traditions, and songs inspired by the Kaunas Lagoon
“The Clay Path” – Creating a Living Legend (part of the “Contemporary Neighbourhoods” program)
“Land Art” (part of the “Contemporary Neighbourhoods” program)
Theatrical tour “Radio Angels” (part of the “Contemporary Neighbourhoods” program)
