About us and our activities:

LAPSUS is an independent art space and organization in the field of visual and digital arts, supporting emerging artists and cultural professionals. Based in Timișoara, LAPSUS actively promotes art production to strengthen connections between artists and the public while also creating intergenerational exchanges for the transfer of knowledge and practices.

Founded in October 2017 as an exhibition space in the former Azur factory, LAPSUS became a nonprofit organization in 2019. For seven years, we have organized exhibitions, workshops, residencies, affordable art fairs, mobilities, and mentorship programs. We have built a strong community of supporters and collaborators, allowing us to expand into multiple studio spaces covering 248 square meters across 10 studios.

We are a network of professionals with diverse backgrounds—ranging from artists and curators to philosophers, architects, engineers, and designers. We continuously explore new ways to promote culture and art by developing support structures, mediation platforms, and collaborative frameworks for participatory artistic projects. Our goal is to broaden the spectrum of creative practices, emphasizing interdisciplinarity, community co-creation, and mentorship for emerging artists and cultural professionals.
