PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Sector or field: Arts and Technology, Cultural Heritage, music, Visual Arts and sustainable cultural tourism.
Preferred field of expertise: Sustainable cultural tourism.

All Projects that could include archival records from Casa Planas Digital Photo Archive to achieve their objectives. The Photos would be available to professionals, researchers, and the public to create opportunities to engage in various impactful storytelling about cultural heritage, Environment and Climate Change. In addition, projects that include artists residence exchange collaborations and participatory co-creational cultural project throughout Europe. Lastly, projects that would enhance cooperation between Photo Archives and other cultural heritage specialists throughout Europe, strengthening a network of cultural heritage guardians.

ORGANISATION DESCRIPTION

The aim of Casa Planas is to strengthen the transnational creation and circulation of European works and artists, nurturing talents with new skills and digital tools to innovate, generating jobs and growth in Europe. The main activities are:

1. Digitalization of a Photograph archive to accelerate a digital transition that will increase the audience engagement and cultural access to historical records from the Island of Mallorca in Spain. These records include people, key touristic places, and its development throughout the years, among others. Therefore, it represents a key asset to include in co-creations to disseminate and raise awareness about sustainable development, the environment, and our fight against climate change. Moreover, it represents a great tool to continue telling important cultural heritage stories to a diverse public by developing a standardized workflow to collect, digitize, and publish pictures on People, buildings, environment, traditions, and sustainable tourism.

2. Artist residencies that promote the exchange of artists to build the capacity within the European cultural and creative sectors, enhancing their entrepreneurial and professional capacities internationally.

Casa Planas embraces a digital and green transition through the digitalization of Photo archive and the residencies of artists from Europe. This will foster talents capable to adapt to new creative processes, business models and market developments in various sectors such us Europe's Cultural Heritage, music, publishing, architecture, fashion, design, and sustainable cultural tourism.
Casa Planas Promotes inclusion, diversity, and gender equality in all the activities of the center as well as in the in the artistic aspects of the work generated by the artists in residence and the projects that used the Photo archives such us workshops, publications, creative Labs, conferences, and exhibitions.
