The mission of FISE (Studio of Young Hungarian Designers Associations, founded in 1982), is to mentor starting designers and extend the opportunities of active designers, representing their interests. The great advantage of FISE against other organizations is that it focuses equally on all the applied artistic fields (art, craft, design), so the professional opportunities are continuously available within the association even for career starters seeking their path or designers switching genres.

For the sake of proper representation, our 3400 artist members are grouped in departments within FISE according to their profession, each headed by a board member who forwards the needs of the given department to the board, thus the association can at all times seek opportunities of appearance, submit proposals to tenders or organize programs according to the current needs. As all programs organized by FISE, those arranged within the individual departments are also open to all members and often the wider profession.

Our members are (almost without exception) also art educators. We teach in primary and secondary schools as well as at art universities, so we have extensive experience in transferring art knowledge and techniques. We organize various workshops and programs for both young people and adults. We have also worked in several domestic and international programs for young people with disabilities.

A feature of FISE also attractive for foreign artists is its enthusiastic participation in tenders as a host. As part of our cooperation with foreign artists and other professional organizations, we are able to provide such conditions that only few similar associations can: our gallery and guest room in Budapest awaits groups and designers operating in the fields of art, craft and design, while we also offer an art house in Mátranovák in the picturesque North Hungarian Mountains. The location is the ideal venue for creative workshops and professional programs. Our art house has already proved its suitability to house jewelry art and ceramic workshops, but we are open towards other initiatives.

The FISE Gallery in the downtown of Budapest with glass-paned front houses exhibitions in three-week periods, as well as events with themes suiting art/design professional life. Every year we aspire to host at least one foreign country or artist, thus expanding the perspective of our members and visitors.
